How to Shoot Video That Doesn't Suck
Video Course Branding
I helped develop the branding and motion design for a video course based on the best-selling book How to Shoot Video That Doesn’t Suck. Drawing inspiration from Masterclass and broadcast channels like IFC, I created a bold, fun, and easy-to-read visual style that reflected the book’s tongue-in-cheek humor and approachable teaching tone. Bright colors and clean typography ensured clarity for students while maintaining a lively and engaging aesthetic.
The design and animation needed to provide clear navigation for learners while also being adaptable for promotional and social media use.
Deliverables included:
•Updated branding that stayed true to the book and website while giving the course a fresh, modern look.
•Custom animations for title cards, exercise cards, end cards, and explainer sections within lessons.
•A flexible toolkit for editors across all 21 lessons, allowing easy customization of text, colors, supers, backgrounds, and lists.
Because no one wants to watch bad video.
